The All-Inclusive Synthetic Turf Guide

Why Synthetic Turf Is So Awesome:

In Bakersfield, winters tend to be mild with very little rainfall. Even so, runoff could still be a problem for property owners. Your landscape should hence be made ready for rain and the winter as well.

All this said, artificial grass makes for an ideal outdoor flooring or landscaping solution. Modern turf grasses are water permeable. They are designed so that rainwater will safely seep through the perforated grass fibers.

In natural grass, potholes are a common sight and water can lay stagnant. With an artificial grass in place, you can keep peace of mind there’ll be no brown or bald spots in your yard. No standing water then where mosquitoes could breed.

The artificial grass also doesn’t get slippery when wet, which is great for families with kids who enjoy playing under the rain. Even your pooch can happily run around the yard when it rains and let inside your home afterward without you worrying about cleaning up. Their paws will remain mud free. The artificial grass turf also wouldn’t stay wet for too long.

Exposure to rain also helps as it reduces the need for you to spray water on the artificial grass turf surface.

If your area, meanwhile, endures snow, the artificial turf will also be able to do just fine. You can let the ice melt for the water to drain through the holes. And should you need to remove snow or ice from the grass, you can always use a plastic shovel to get the job done.

Rain or snow, your artificial grass will continue looking great. When properly installed and taken care of, it should last you a good 10-15 years.

NATURAL GRASS AND WET CONDITIONS DON’T MIX

Last winter was particularly wet across California, and it’s possible this season could hold just as much rainfall too. April showers bring May flowers, but too much rain causes natural grass to turn into a giant, soggy mud puddle that’s just waiting to track dirt stains into your home.

LEFT HIGH AND DRY? THAT’S A GOOD THING

Synthetic turf doesn’t have that problem, nor will it grow uncontrollably with excessive water. Our synthetic turf contains natural drainage channels with flow rates of over 230” per hour, with the nearest competitor not even close to matching those numbers. Rest assured, Courts & Greens turf will handle whatever nature throws at it.

IN FACT…

A wet winter has the added benefit of washing away accumulated dust and doesn’t require any winter season prep work, so you can’t go wrong with all the benefits a synthetic lawn has to offer.  Give us a call today, and we’ll compare your yard against our many variations of turf, helping you find the best turf for your particular needs.

WE LIVE IN AN ERA OF ARTIFICIAL EVERYTHING.

From artificial sugars to intelligence, christmas trees and eyelashes, we’re surrounded by a seemingly endless stream of created products that can make it near impossible to discern what’s really real anymore.

Therein lies part of the problem though: If the opposite of artificial is real, and the opposite of real is fake, are we being sucked into the belief that artificial carries a negative connotation? Is artificial somehow inferior to naturally occurring “real” things?

WHEN IT COMES TO SYNTHETIC PET TURF, WE BELIEVE ARTIFICIAL IS BETTER THAN THE REAL THING. HERE’S WHY:

Let’s start by addressing drainage concerns. There seems to be a misconception with some pet owners that synthetic turf can’t be used by pets when they need to go to the bathroom. This isn’t the case. Our pet turf has specifically designed drainage channels so your pet’s business doesn’t come back to haunt you or your nose with unsightly stains or odors.

There’s a reason the Bakersfield SPCA hired us to install our pet turf at their facility. They could’ve opted for regular grass, but they realized they needed something beyond the capabilities normal grass could offer.

They were right to choose it. Synthetic holds up better than regular grass, especially in high traffic scenarios. Many animals dig, especially our canine friends. Ordinary grass is only as strong as the root holding it. Our artificial pet turf is extremely resilient against paws and claws because it’s woven together with several layers of proprietary fibrous material, similar to a high strength net and far stronger than a single root. Best of all, this durability keeps underlying dirt and mud from being exposed and eventually tracked indoors.

Don’t forget the other benefits of synthetic turf either: You’ll conserve water by not having to use your sprinklers, nor pollute the air with mowers or blowers that have to trim grass every week as it grows. You’ll have grass that’s green year round with less maintenance and designed for every occasion thrown at it.

For those of us looking to enjoy our pets as well as a green yard, synthetic pet turf is one example of artificial doing a better job than the real. Give us a call today to speak with a real person about installing pet turf on your property, because artificial phone operators telling you to “press the ‘#’ symbol” is one example of the natural still doing a better job at some things.

Synthetic Grass for Sports:

KICKING AROUND THE IDEA OF A SOCCER FIELD IN YOUR BACKYARD?

We can make that happen faster than the amount of time it takes most futbol announcers to yell “GOOOOOOAAAAAAL!”  Okay, maybe that’s a bad example since some of those announcers can yell for a LONG time.  But joking aside, if you have a backyard, Courts and Greens can install virtually any kind of field you can imagine.

We recently shared a few pictures of a backyard soccer field install on our facebook profile and we’re thrilled at the amount of positive feedback and inquiries we’ve received from it. We aren’t kidding when we say: “If you can dream it, we can build it!” Backyard soccer fields are one of the many services we can provide, and we’d be happy to give you a free estimate for your own personal arena.

WE DO FRONT YARDS TOO.

But don’t blame us if the neighbors start holding scrimmage matches on your property.  We normally recommend regular yard turf installs or Xero-scapes instead. Regardless of your choice, if it’s green and offers a place to play Courts and Greens is all about it.  It’s time to step up your game.

Synthetic Turf on Golf Courses:

LUSH GREENS AND ROLLING HILLS POCKMARKED BY TALL FLAGSTICKS AND LAZY GOLF CARTS. ALL INGREDIENTS IN THE RECIPE FOR A SLICE OF HEAVEN.

But have you considered how important the grass is in that recipe? If it’s not excruciatingly trimmed, regularly watered, flattened for consistent roll, or (*gasp) not the proper color green – the idyllic picture everyone has in their minds falls to pieces in a heap of dry, brown disappointment.

In drought recovering, California golf courses are clamoring for new strategies to save money in a rapidly changing sport. With many incorporating artificial turf as a solution. It’s worth considering what benefits synthetic turf offers to preserve the idyllic putting landscape for future golf players.

Poa annua is the Courts & Green solution to keep the game strong. The turf is designed as a low-labor golf grass that stays green and saves you green too. It has superb ball roll, thanks to soft polyethylene fibers and can still exhibit the same characteristics of more costly sand-dressed greens too.

In fact, Poa Annua performs so well most golfers don’t notice the difference. The tightly woven fibers are just as green, prevent ball-sticking, and offer a natural rebound that’s on-par with traditional sod.

It’s much-needed good news for a sport in need of turf alternatives for drier climates. It’s anything but game over for golf, and Poa Annua is happy to position itself as a low cost, low maintenance solution to keep putting greens green, and golfers keen for the next time they get to tee off. Give us a call today!

WHY PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS BEST

DIY OR D.I.WHY?

It’s tempting to read about the benefits of synthetic turf and want your very own slice of green to enjoy. However, if you’re thinking about saving a bit of cash by attempting your own install you might want to consider the following:

Not All Turf is Created Equal.  We go to great lengths to supply our customers with the highest quality synthetic turf and infill that will last through the years and elements. You should know that not every turf vendor works as hard as we do for you. Even the well intentioned vendors might not know they’re selling an inferior product that won’t last.

Overlooked Design Considerations.  From south facing windows that can reflect sunlight and melt turf to choosing hazardous materials for your infill, there’s no shortage of small details that can come back to haunt you later. Simply put, there’s a lot more to it than simply unrolling your turf and nailing it to the ground.

There’s no Warranty.  A failed DIY attempt means you have no warranty to fall back on if something fails. All of our professional installs are backed by a 12 year warranty. Therefore, just call us in the unlikely event something happens and we’ll fix it right away.

AND SPEAKING OF PHONES…

If you’d rather leave your turf install to the pros, give us a call today. We’re happy to discuss any aspect of your yard with you to achieve the lawn of your dreams with Courts & Greens!

THREE THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN INSTALLING TURF:

#1) CHOOSING THE RIGHT TURF PRODUCT

We know this step seems obvious, but artificial turf is poorly judged by what looks good and feels nice, without any regard to what function the turf will serve. One important advantage of synthetic turf is the diversity of application. Specifically designed variants for sports use, residential, and pet all exist, so make sure what you’re buying is what it’s intended for.

#2) PREPARATION & BASE WORK

image19 1000x972

Quite possibly the most important step, you need to ensure the ground you’re installing on is level and smooth. Uneven surfaces, small bumps, and holes detract from the overall appearance and can make your installation appear noticeably artificial. In fact, most installers agree that having a slight crown to the overall lawn helps in drainage and runoff.

#3) EVEN THE WAY IT FACES HAS TO BE CONSIDERED.

When artificial turf is created, some grain patterns will emerge that influence what direction the grass will “point” or lay. When laying turf, the best practice is to orient the grain in the common direction of view, or angle people will be facing it at. This particular point is mostly aesthetic, but if your goal is to make a realistic installation these are the final details that can make or break your project.

TRUST IN THE EXPERTS

As you can guess, there are many more things to consider when properly installing turf. Fortunately, our team knows the ins and outs of turf installation, and years of experience ensures that you’ll have both form and function to the highest degree when choosing Courts & Greens for your install. Contact us with your ideas today!

IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL ARTIFICIAL USING ONLY ONE WORD, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE:

DETAIL.

It’s all about the details. And our Bantam series synthetic turf line is no exception.
Not only is it 20% cooler than traditional oval or diamond shape grass fibers, the core structure of each blade of grass is precision-folded into a “W-M” pattern for spring-back resilience while still remaining soft. No easy task, unless you focus on the details.

Or realistic color blending, with 4-varying shades of green, creating color and texture. The Bantam series features a two-tone root-zone, for longer fiber support and superior aesthetics over other artificial grasses. Your neighbors won’t be able to tell if it’s real or not, unless they notice you’ve stopped running your sprinklers.

None of this comes at the cost of function though. Drainage rates of 30” per hour allow excess water to flow easily without flooding, lifting or washout.

Check out our Bantam Turf Here or give us a call to learn more. We have turf designed for all sorts of purposes and applications, from pets to sporting and more.

WE DO COMMERCIAL TURF INSTALLATIONS TOO

GREAT FOR THOSE HARD TO WATER AREAS

We’ve long touted the benefits to installing our turf in your home yard. But what about using synthetic grass in business applications? You’ll find many of the same benefits still apply, like office exteriors stay green, lower costs and greater durability.

YOUR BOTTOM LINE IS OUR TOP CONCERN

Commercial properties can easily cost two or three times more than residential lots when it comes to maintenance and utilities.  Landscape and gardening expenses are no exception, so having something that you don’t have to mow, water, or worry about turning brown means synthetic turf is a clear winner that will pay for itself.

Obvious cost savings aside, property owners are also getting creative with where they put their turf, and some are discovering the benefits of rooftop greens on their buildings.  Not only can it create an attractive rooftop oasis, the turf also acts as an insulator, shielding roof tiles and tar from sunlight in the summer and helping to retain rising heat in the winter.  Choosing a thicker turf or one with extra infill only helps to increase this benefit.commercial turf

COMMON TURF HOW TO’S:

HOW DO YOU CLEAN TURF?

“What is the best way to clean my artificial turf?” We get this question all the time. While it’s true that it’s much easier to keep turf green and looking great compared to natural grass, your lawn’s natural appearance will still benefit from a couple easy cleaning measures. In short, If you can hose off a driveway once a week or so, you’ll have no problem cleaning your turf either.

HOSE IT WEEKLY, RAKE IT MONTHLY

For most homeowners, a weekly rinse will remove most accumulated dust or small debris trapped in your turf. For larger debris like leaves, rocks, mulch, or trash, we suggest using a non-metallic stiff bristle broom or rake to gently comb the turf. Not only does this keep your turf clean, it also helps maintain your turf’s upright appearance.

However, pet owners may want to consider upping this interval; moreover, they should focus more water on the areas of turf their pet usually handles their business on. Solid pet waste should be scooped and removed before watering, but the good news is that our pet infill will take care of breaking down odors and any residual pet waste for you.

RAIN, RAIN, DON’T GO AWAY

Remember that other factors can come into play as well.  Surrounding trees and shrubs, kids, and rain affect how often you’ll need to clean. Fortunately, even the most intensive or time-consuming turf maintenance is far easier and cheaper than mowing your grass.  Give us a call today to learn more about turf maintenance, installation, and how we can make your lawn dreams a reality!

All Types of Turf:

MAVERICK SERIES TURF: THE TOP GUN OF SYNTHETIC GRASS FOR GOOD REASON

IT’LL TAKE YOU RIGHT INTO THE DANGER ZONE.

The only way our Maverick series turf could get any more awesome is if it had a complimentary Goose Series turf and was installed by a naval air support crew via steam catapult. (If you don’t get that joke, you NEED to watch Top Gun immediately.)

Just like a Kenny Loggins music video, our Maverick line is the intersection of form and function; combining beautiful aesthetic principles with heat and UV reducing technology to create a cost effective lawn alternative for your front and back yard.

When most individuals think of synthetic turf, flattened individual blades is what we envision. Flat is boring. Give your lawn some personality instead. We use W-shaped parabolic blades to form the backbone of our Maverick turf, and many of our other artificial variants too. This added dimension offers excellent visual appearance, low sheen, and a crisp, clean look.

Heat Reflective Technology also means the Maverick line doesn’t just look cool, but also feels cool to the touch as well.  Heat reducing technology means you can enjoy your turf without fear of getting burned.

Come see why our turf stands apart from countless other varieties and types of synthetic grass. You won’t find a more balanced and affordable alternative. Give us a call today!

SAGE 55: THE TURF THAT’S BOTH TOUGH AND SOFT:

Not all turf installations are expensive.  Introducing the Sage-55 Series turf, a reliable, realistic looking turf that’s soft to the touch, and wallet.

MEET COST EFFECTIVE AND COMFORTABLE:

The sheer cost of a complete turf installation can discourage plenty who are considering artificial turf for remodeling their yard. Finally, there’s a proven turf that looks great and is an economical option worth considering.

Sage-55 is a great choice for your front or backyard. It’s designed with soft touch technology, offering an ultra soft feel comfortable enough to sleep on. Not to mention, a perfect choice for yards with kids who are active and play outdoors.  Sage accomplishes this with a fortified, rich supportive root-zone, creating ample cushion when underfoot.

BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN WE SKIMPED ON APPEARANCE FOR COMFORT.

Sage-55 uses a proprietary color blend of apple greens and late summer green, for a well-balanced contrast of texture and color. BIG DADDY TURF: FOR WHEN “GOOD”JUST ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH

AT 2.5 INCHES TALL, BIG DADDY DWARFS THEM ALL

So, you need a synthetic turf that offers thick, plush coverage. You also know you won’t be playing golf on it, but anything else goes. That only leaves you one option, and a 90 oz. face weight ensures you’ll have a durable coverage that’s also ample and comfortable for years to come.

BLADE TECHNOLOGY THAT WON’T FLOP

Big Daddy Turf features a 2.5 inch blade length, but it’s no slouch when it comes to standing upright. S – extrusion grass blade technology adds depth and dimension to each blade during manufacture, so it’s not easily bent and recovers upright. An ultra supportive root zone also helps, and means less infill is added during installation. Big Daddy is also low heat and low sheen, so it can be used almost anywhere and still look great. Durability from the sheer grass length also allows for just about any activity and foot traffic, including pets and sporting activities.

BRIGHTON SERIES TURF: THE BEST OF THE BEST

HOW DO YOU DEFINE BEST?

We often get questions asking about the types of turf we carry, and the vast majority of them revolve around some variant of the “what’s the best turf you have?” variety.

“Best” is a tricky word to pin down.  Best at drainage?  Color?  Providing a sports surfacing?  Take your pick and we’ll give you a different turf for each answer.

But when people really mean “what looks best?”, we usually point them to the Brighton series turf for the simple fact that it’s the grass chosen 3 to 1 by customers on the basis of appearance.  It’s an overwhelming preference, and most would agree.

A PREMIUM PRODUCT, BUILT IN THE USA

What sets Brighton series turf above the rest? It’s in the tiny yet significant details of realism.  No other turf uses slightly uneven blade stock for natural growth appearance, or adds a high root zone with contrasting tan and brown colors.  Even the shades of green are varied, and when taken in together represent a realistic, aesthetically pleasing synthetic turf.

But it’s not all just looks and appearance.  The turf is UV shielded, low sheen, and has cooling features for hot days.  It also has excellent drainage rates, and the entire system is fully recyclable so your turf can someday be reincarnated as a plastic bottle or park bench with somebody’s name or donation engraved on it.

THE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE

At least when it comes to the Brighton series turf it is.  Don’t take the chance of wasting money with inferior quality turf you purchase from a home improvement store.  We’ve been in the industry long enough to know what lasts, and we stand by our products with warranty and exceptional customer service. Interested in seeing the Brighton series for yourself?  Give us a call today and speak with us about financing, installation, or any of the other services we offer.

PLAYGROUND TURF: A CHILD SAFETY INVESTMENT

KIDS NEED A SAFE PLACE TO PLAY

Playground installations are no place to skimp on quality or safety.  In fact, given the public nature of these kinds of projects, extra care needs to be given when deciding on a play surface that looks and feels great.  With fall protection and sanitary measures, you’ll see our turf offers more than the other alternatives.

GROUND ZERO FOR SOFT, SAFE, AND INVITING

We’ve been installing turf in playgrounds for a while now; therefore, we know the ins and outs of what makes a good product, and a substandard one. A soft surface to play on is extremely important, (You wouldn’t want your kids playing over concrete) so we use turf that conforms to ASTM-1292-4 Standards. This standard offers a fall protection rating of up to 8 feet, which is far superior to natural grass or dirt.

Our turf is also proven, honed over 10 years with industry feedback from successful installations in places all across the globe. We’ve even added organic safety features. Non-toxic? You bet. Anti-microbial materials? We use them. Fully recyclable? Absolutely.

INSTALLATION ANYWHERE

A safe place to play provides a much-needed foundation for future generations. Ensure that future with Courts & Greens synthetic turf. Interested in learning more?  Give us a call today and we can discuss any questions or ideas you have for the perfect playground that’s done right with Courts & Greens!

YOU’LL NEVER BE ALONE WITH SOLITUDE SYNTHETIC TURF

TURF CAPABLE OF COMFORTABLY STANDING ALONE

Often times, being “left high and dry” is considered a bad thing. Most would define this as an Idiom for being left out in the open or stranded somewhere. But if the terms revolving around this phrase include floods, failing levees, or synthetic grass, high and dry is exactly where you want to be, and that’s where the Solitude series of turf comes into its own.

IT’S LONELY AT THE TOP

First of all, the aesthetic components of this grass are easily apparent. Solitude mimics the subtle green color combinations evident in the pristine, naturally occurring bluegrass varieties. Also, W-fibers puts creases in each blade, offering support and resilience that is augmented with a lush root zone.

Solitude is also fully recyclable, thanks to a 100% olefin backing layer. Each blade of grass is precision stitched into this backing for added resilience and reduced turf separation. These woven layers also assist with drainage, giving this turf an incredible 234” per hour of drainage for those times when being high and dry is exactly where you want to be.

REDEFINE HOW YOU THINK OF SOLITUDE.

Today’s digital era of constant connectedness leaves a word like ‘solitude’ seemingly irrelevant. But that is not always the case. Channel your inner peace with solitude turf from courts and greens today. We have face weights in 62 and 82 ounces, so even the most exacting of installation requirements won’t get left high and dry with an improper face weight. Give us a call today!

Don’t Forget About the Infill:

So, you finally decided on what type of synthetic turf is best suited for your needs. Congratulations! Wait! Have you considered your turf infill too? We design some types of artificial grass for certain applications, (sports, lawn, golf, etc.) Therefore, turf infill is not any different.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Infill provides ballast and weight to your synthetic turf.  It’s the “dirt” component in an artificial turf installation but has far more useful secondary properties to suit your needs.  We offer pet specific infill, landscape options, sporting and golf applications, and more.

PET OPTIONS.

For pet specific, we offer ZeoPur and PurTech brands because it is all natural and it uses activated natural bacteria to control odors. It’s completely nontoxic too. PurTech is also effective, with antimicrobial and fungus fighting properties. These options are ideal if your turf sees regular pet traffic.

IF YOU NEED A GRASS THAT CAN SUPPORT AN ACTIVE LIFE.

Most sporting, landscape, and playground turf consists of small, granulated rubber in varying quantities.  We use tested, environmentally harmless brands of infill, all of which provide reliable shock protection compared to inferior silica or hardened plastic infill options.

Now that you have an idea of which infill is best suited for your synthetic turf, give us a call today and we’ll help you realize your ideal court or lawn setup.  Remember: if you can dream it, we can build it!

STILL ON THE FENCE? HERE ARE MORE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THE TURF CRAZE

FAKE IT ‘TIL YOU MAKE IT

It’s not inaccurate to say artificial turf or fake grass is growing; but not in the same way natural grass does. Instead of busting out the lawnmower every weekend in response to your natural lawn shooting up another two centimeters, we’ve no intention of cutting back on the turf that’s steadily proving to homeowners why the hype is justified.

TURF BY THE NUMBERS:

According to Houselogic.com, a National Association of Realtors website, artificial turf is expanding as much as 10-15% each year as both homeowners and property renters are finding creative ways to easily add green to their place.  By Houselogic’s math, most turf pays for itself within 7 years, leaving plenty of serviceable life for years after.

LET’S GET GROWING!

We realize not all installations are identical though, so give us a call to discuss the specifics of your home or business and what you’re looking for. Together we’ll figure out the best turf that’s price matched to your needs and budget.

It’s time to join the millions who are enjoying hassle-free green lawns, playgrounds, patios, and even rooftops with Courts & Greens synthetic turf. Are you ready to grow?

THE RIGHT STEPS TOWARDS A REALISTIC FEEL

What sets synthetic turf apart from natural grass? One of the most exciting aspects of artificial turf is the fact it keeps getting deceptively more realistic every year. We’ve long since compared the pros and cons of each, but many still think appealing turf rests only with the eyes.

How it looks is crucial, but don’t overlook the role of your sole in maintaining that illusion of soft and inviting.

WHEN IT LOOKS GREAT BUT FEELS TERRIBLE.

Few things in life are more disappointing than setting your eyes on an appealing square of lawn only to find it’s harder than the pavement you just stepped off of. It’s also a dead giveaway that what you’re walking on is anything but grass, which leaves most people searching for greener pastures.

Properly installed turf is supposed to be soft and inviting, offering a bit of rebound and cushion thanks to high-quality infill.  Yet overlooked details like this will ruin any hopes of that comfort.  Anyone can unroll and nail a bit of turf, but if you treat it as if it’s an indoor carpet install you’re going to be as disappointed as the Dodgers were at this year’s World Series.

COURTS & GREENS HAS YOUR BACK AND YOUR FEET.

That’s why Courts & Greens takes all the details of your turf install into consideration, including the surface preparation underneath and choosing the right infill to compliment it. Don’t risk doing it wrong the first time and then either living with that mistake or paying more to redo it. Give us a call today, and we’ll make sure your turf installation starts off on the right foot.

Myths:

SYNTHETIC TURF CAN CAUSE CANCER:

Have you looked into the health concerns some people have about artificial grass playgrounds? If so, you may have stumbled across news articles pointing to the cancer risk those tiny, black specks of infill can have on someone’s health.

COURTS & GREENS DOESN’T USE TIRE INFILL

Some turf installers (and DIY’ers) use recycled tires and other rubber products for their infill. It’s a cheap, easily made material, and it does a good job supporting the turf. However, the problem is that tires contain many known carcinogens. Also, they generate dust particles that people inhale, which makes matters worse.

At Courts & Greens, we use non-toxic PurTech Turf infill or ZeoPur Pet Infill depending on application. We never use recycled tires for infill, and we suggest avoiding turf that has it. Here’s yet another reason why Courts & Greens is your best choice for synthetic grass installations.

As a side note, the Pennsylvania State University Center for Sport Surface Research has compiled tons of scholarly articles on artificial grass that you can read here if you still have concerns.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT SAFETY

We make it our primary focus to create safe, playable surfaces for you and your loved ones to enjoy without worry. Hopefully this article mitigates any lingering fears you may have about the environmental impact of Courts & Greens turf. Give us a call today if you have any additional questions, and let’s start planning the lawn of your dreams!

MELTED SYNTHETIC TURF? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?

DON’T FALL VICTIM TO WINDOW GLARE

Cold winter temperatures and shorter days might keep you from thinking about melted synthetic lawns due to the extreme heat. But what causes this to happen in the first place, and what can be done to prevent it?

MEASURE GROUND TEMPS TO BE SURE

Taking a flamethrower to things obviously produces a melted clump of green plastic. But most owners won’t torch their newly installed turf just to see where it melts at.  The real culprit rests with high efficiency windows and their heat reflective coatings, and that’s where owners need to evaluate potential risks.

Look for unobstructed windows facing the sun’s path around your turf zone; measure surface temperatures exposed to any glare off them. If any problematic hotspots are found, we can protect your turf before any damage from melting is caused.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

Plenty of solutions exist, and that’s why you should give us a call today if you’re having heat reflective concerns. From specialized window films, surface coatings, and turf with cooling features built in, we’re ready to keep burnt plastic smells away and disappointment at bay the Courts & Greens way!
