4 Fast Turf Maintenance Tips

By Courts & Greens - April 15th, 2019 in Turf

We’ve talked plenty in our blogs about how artificial turf is practically maintenance free which allows you to save time and money that’s usually spent on preserving a lush, green yard. But there are still a few things you can do to keep your artificial turf lawn fresh as the day it was installed in your yard.

Here are a few fast recommondations on how to keep your turf at its best.

Inspection

Prolonged foot traffic that lasts can cause the turf fibers to break apart. Therefore, it’s always a smart move to inspect your turf lawn so that you can schedule a fast and easy repair if needed.

Debris Removal

One of the easiest ways to remove accumulated debris from a turf lawn is to use a leaf blower. After you blow all of the debris over onto one side of the yard, you can begin to remove it. This method helps you clear debris without breaking the turf or puncturing the infill.

Infill Replacement

After extensive foot traffic, wear and tear starts to set into your turf’s infill. The infill can be removed from execessive foot traffic and maintenance. Always refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations on how to best upkeep your infill. Courts and Greens uses tested, environmentally harmless brands of infill, all of which provide reliable shock protection compared to inferior silica or hardened plastic infill options.

Disinfecting Your Turf

You can brush your turf to remove unwanted debris. Always use a non-metal rake as it won’t damage your turf. You can also apply an antimicrobial cleaner made specifically for turf. Make sure any cleaner you use is approved by the manufacturer’s directions.
